Apps for Piano Lessons
Here’s a list of apps that I use in lessons, as well as recommend to any of my students.
This is the Metronome app that I recommend. It will do anything you will probably need a metronome to do. (Apple and Android)
This is a fantastic tool for working on your note reading, and other theory knowledge. It is very customizable and user friendly. It is only Apple for the app, but the website is free, and can be used on any device. (Website is www.musictheory.net)
My primary method book series that I use is Piano Adventures by Faber and Faber. This is the app that allows you to play along with an accompaniment track. It’s great tool! (Apple)
If you are interested in jazz, this is probably one of, if not the best tool out there to work on your skills. (Apple and Android)
This is a great app to use for ear training. Works on different ear training exercises as well as rhythm exercises.
Game Type Apps for Students
This is a fun simple game for students to work on rhythm, without knowing it :) (Apple)
One of the few games I’ve seen where the device recognizes the sound for the answer. Set your range, then play the note on the piano of the note that is notated. (Apple and Google)
This is a fun game to challenge you with your note reading abilities.(Apple)-The link is to the Apple store, but also available on Google Play.
